Material Handler

Shift: 6AM-2:30PM

Purpose and Scope of Position:

This position involves pulling or picking finished orders from one department to another to finalize the products based on the work order instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to follow work order instructions.
• Practice all safety precautions while pulling inventory.
• Ability to follow work order instructions.
• Move boxes or bins of products from one department to another.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, use of a calculator is available.
• Maintain speed and accuracy in the orders picked.
• Ensure Kanbans, (scheduling system for Labeling and Filling) are full at all times.
• If Kanbans cannot be filled communicate with supervisor.
• Use of Stock picker on a daily basis. Training will be provided
• Use of pallet jacket.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Adaptability to shift or hour changes
• Additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to alternate between sitting and standing.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours.
• Ability to use a step ladder for 6 hours.
• Ability to communicate verbally with team members.
• Ability to hear forklifts operating and its horn and beep while reversing.
• Ability to perform fine manipulation motions and keyboarding ability for 2 to 4 hours.
• Ability to perform gross manipulation such as holding, grasping, and turning for 6 hours.
• Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds for 6 to 8 hours.
• Near visual acuity, ability to read fine print while using a computer for 6 hours.
• Ability to push or pull 40-60 pounds for 6 to 8 hours.
• Ability to stoop or bend on occasion.
• Ability to crouch or kneel on occasion.

Work Environment:

• Required PPE includes a reflective safety vest.
• Working within a warehouse production setting.
• Occasionally loud environment when multiple machines are running.
• Alternating temperatures when machines are running and depending on if the bay doors are open.
