Position Overview
The Planner plays a key role in coordinating production schedules, managing customer demand, and ensuring materials and resources are aligned with manufacturing requirements. This individual will collaborate closely with production, procurement, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure orders move efficiently through the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer forecasts, orders, and internal manufacturing capacity.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to appropriate departments to support manufacturing operations.
- Adjust schedules in response to design changes, material shortages, labor constraints, or other operational challenges.
- Review production documentation, staffing plans, and material requirements to determine production priorities.
- Issue shop orders for manufacturing and coordinate delivery instructions for finished goods.
Order & Customer Coordination
- Manage customer forecasts and order entries in alignment with contractual agreements and demand expectations.
- Issue order acknowledgements and coordinate delivery timelines with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Interface regularly with customers, key account managers, procurement teams, and manufacturing leadership to ensure alignment.
- Address delays, scheduling conflicts, or customer concerns by collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
Materials & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate the delivery, assembly, or distribution of materials and components required to support production schedules.
- Monitor material flow and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to prevent shortages or bottlenecks.
- Establish and maintain MRP planning parameters for assigned parts in accordance with company planning policies.
Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track production progress, material consumption, inventory levels, and key performance metrics.
- Prepare and distribute status reports related to production schedules and delivery commitments.
- Monitor work processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications.
- Report on assigned KPIs and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain documentation related to production sequencing, logistics coordination, staffing schedules, and related operational records.
- Follow all internal quality system procedures and compliance standards.
- Support and maintain 5S workplace organization practices.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to evaluate progress and identify scheduling adjustments.
- Support business units and programs by coordinating production commitments and timelines.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic manufacturing environment with shifting demands.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced analytical and complex problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with electronic components, circuit boards, processors, or electronic equipment manufacturing.
