The Marketing Specialist coordinates and executes comprehensive multi-channel marketing campaigns, with a primary focus on traditional media, vendor management, and project coordination. Serves as the lead liaison for external advertising partners and manages the production of physical marketing assets and promotional materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Manages advertising projects with external vendors, including negotiating contracts and submitting purchase orders.
- Plans and executes initiatives to reach target audiences through traditional channels, including newspapers, radio, billboards and TV.
- Oversees the ordering, customization and distribution of promotional items for branding and recruiting purposes.
- Manages content scheduling for the digital billboards.
- Coordinates the supply, inventory and distribution of marketing publications and collateral.
- Monitors and manages specific budget areas by tracking projected expenditures against actual expenses.
- Conducts market research to identify consumer trends and optimize campaign strategies.
- Collaborates with the marketing team to develop creative marketing campaigns that align with college branding standards.
- Analyzes campaign performance data to calculate return on investment and optimize future marketing endeavors.
- Provides technical editing and proofreading for printed publications and advertising copy.
- Represents the college at regional consortiums (e.g., Gulf Coast Consortium, CCPI) and professional marketing conferences.
- Coordinates logistics for marketing equipment reservations and departmental display setups.
- Assists with the planning and execution of special events for the college.
- Serves as a representative of the College at community and chamber of commerce events, outreach activities, and recruitment initiatives; promotes College programs and services and engages prospective students, partners, and the public.

WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Five (5) years work experience in marketing, public relations, web, advertising and design
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Bilingual – English/Spanish
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage vendor contracts and timelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for budget tracking and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) for file management and minor edits.
- Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills for print media.
- Ability to analyze market research data to make recommendations on strategy.
- Strong interpersonal skills for representing the college at external meetings and consortiums.
- Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to drive to off-campus events.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively within and outside the College’s service area, including evenings and weekends, using a College or personal vehicle as required.
