ABOUT THE AD SPEND

The Ad Spend (theadspend.com) is building the operating system for paid media. We're a three-person founding team that's already analyzing $68M in ad spend across 137 companies — and we're just getting started.

Our platform turns fragmented ad data from Google, Meta, and LinkedIn into a single AI-readable layer that surfaces trends, explains performance shifts, and (soon) optimizes campaigns and connects spend to closed revenue. Think "Git for ads" plus an AI analyst that actually knows your account.

We're backed by founders who've scaled an agency to Fortune 500 clients, built systems used by Stripe and Vercel, and processed hundreds of millions in data with LLMs.


THE ROLE

We're looking for a recent marketing grad who wants real exposure to early-stage startup life — not coffee runs and slide formatting. You'll work directly with the founding team and ship things that real customers see.

This is an unpaid internship designed for someone using it for academic credit, portfolio building, or a structured runway into a full-time marketing role.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Help shape and execute our content strategy across LinkedIn, X, and our blog
  • Draft case studies from real customer wins (we have great ones)
  • Support founder-led content — turning podcast clips, talks, and product demos into shareable assets
  • Run competitive research across the ad-tech landscape
  • Help with email sequences, onboarding flows, and lifecycle content
  • Pitch in on whatever else needs doing — that's startup life


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Genuinely strong writer — clear, sharp, no fluff
  • Curious about ad tech, AI, and how marketing actually works
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out
  • Bonus: hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, or any ad platform
  • Bonus: familiarity with Notion, Figma, or basic design tools

We've structured this role for students earning credit or recent grads with the flexibility to take on a short-term learning role.
