Position Summary

First Midwest Group (FMG) is a diversified investment and operating platform with a strong presence in commercial real estate development, multi-family housing, and a broad portfolio of operating businesses including gaming, , hospitality, self-storage, and senior housing.

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Marketing Director to lead, modernize, and scale our marketing function across all business lines. This role will serve as a central driver of brand strategy, revenue growth, and market positioning, partnering closely with executive leadership and business unit heads.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and can balance strategy, execution, and team leadership across multiple industries simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute an integrated, multi-channel marketing strategy across all FMG business verticals
  • Partner with the executive team to align marketing initiatives with revenue, leasing, and investment goals
  • Establish FMG’s brand architecture, ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility across diverse business lines

Portfolio Marketing Oversight

  • Lead marketing initiatives across:
  • Commercial real estate leasing and development
  • Multi-family communities
  • Operating businesses (gaming, , hospitality, self-storage, senior living)
  • Customize strategies for each vertical while maintaining overarching brand cohesion

Brand & Creative Direction

  • Oversee brand development, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms
  • Direct creation of high-quality marketing assets (digital, print, video, signage, web)
  • Ensure consistency and professionalism across all touchpoints

Digital & Demand Generation

  • Drive digital marketing strategy including:
  • Website optimization and SEO
  • Paid media campaigns (Google, social, display)
  • Email marketing and CRM strategy
  • Improve lead generation pipelines for leasing, sales, and customer acquisition

Analytics & Performance

  • Define KPIs and build reporting dashboards across business lines
  • Track ROI on campaigns and continuously optimize performance
  • Use data insights to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities

Team & Vendor Management

  • Build and manage internal marketing resources and/or external agencies
  • Oversee freelancers, designers, and digital partners
  • Establish scalable processes and systems for marketing execution

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends across real estate and operating businesses
  • Conduct competitive analysis and identify emerging opportunities
  • Recommend innovative approaches to maintain a competitive edge


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of marketing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience managing multi-brand or multi-division marketing strategies
  • Strong background in digital marketing, branding, and campaign execution

Preferred

  • Experience in real estate, development, or multi-location businesses
  • Familiarity with industries such as hospitality, gaming, or regulated markets
  • Experience building or restructuring a marketing function
