POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Capable of performing the following manufacturing engineering functions:
- Proactively upgrade and support new and legacy manufacturing/assembly control systems, including electrical circuits and microcontrollers.
- Define and verify controls requirements on new, existing, and retrofit equipment.
- Document and archive accurate drawings and specifications.
- Design technical solutions in the areas of machine controls, machine learning, poke yoke development, process automation, advanced tooling, quality engineering, ergonomics, and safety.
- Program, test, and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems and controls (Siemens - Step 7, Allen Bradley - Ladder Logic). Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Support system integration for seamless and real-time data exchange between various systems (i.e. WMS, MES, WCS) PLC’s, and IOT devices.
- Possess strong project management skills; able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate on multi-disciplinary Agile teams to manage machine learning and other Data Science models.
- Analyze data and present findings to peers and senior management in a clear and concise manner.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Controls, or equivalent Engineering Degree is required.
- Three plus (3+) years of experience and demonstrated success as a Manufacturing/Controls Engineer in an automotive manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Experience supporting automated assembly and error proofing systems, to include camera-based vision systems (e.g. Keyence, Cognex).
- Strong understanding of the basic theory of industrial control systems applications, design, and operations including concepts of power distribution.
- PLC programming competency is required including the ability to write, troubleshoot, and understand ladder logic.
- Experience with system integration in enterprise settings is preferred.
- Experience with business intelligence tools or platforms, such as Power BI, is required.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala) and database scripting languages (e.g. SQL) is a plus.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus. Experience with Phoenix PC Works, Inderbus, Devicenet, RS View, Control Logix, and general vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence is highly desired.
Schedule/ Shift: 1st Shift = Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm
Location: Spring Hill, TN
Travel Requirements: None / On-Site
Over Time: As needed based on production support
