Our teams work collaboratively to ensure manufacturing excellence, production readiness, and continuous improvement across programs.
We are looking for you to join our team as Manufacturing Operations Manager 3 to strategically lead the organization and support production along with various operations support teams. This position will be based onsite in Apopka, FL.
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will have organizational responsibility for several managers that lead production assemblers and test technicians within the cells, MRP, machine shop, storerooms, shipping and receiving. The primary mission is to meet or exceed customer requirements by providing quality products on time and within program cost targets, while promoting a lean manufacturing environment.
What You'll Get to Do:
- Provide leadership direction in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital & Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, AS9100 / ISO9001 and all auditable processes.
- Provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
- Create a culture focused on maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ensure 5S practices within the cell areas.
- Drive employee efficiency.
- Meet product cost and schedule targets.
- Manage the overall budget of the manufacturing organization.
- Attract, retain and develop talent and execute a cohesive strategy to create an inclusive culture and build an engaged workforce.
Basic Qualifications for the Manufacturing Operations Manager:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, and/or program management; OR a Master's Degree with 6 or more years of related experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, and/or program management.
- 5+ years of experience in leadership and/or management.
- Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business
- Experience in supporting development, low rate and production environments within Operations.
- Experience with strategy development and implementation for Operations.
- Experience with finance and budgeting with responsibility for cost performance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance.
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or STEM discipline.
- Experience as an electrical, test or manufacturing engineer.
- Experience managing manufacturing assembly and test.
- Experience with Electo-Optics, Infrared manufacturing technologies.
- Prior program, project and/or people management, cross-organizational, process improvement experience
- Experience working on proposals for new business and earned value management.
- Experience with S4 Hana.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Green Belt certified.
- Active U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance or higher.

Primary Level Salary Range: $137,800.00 - $206,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
