This key position will support corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) under the direction of the VP of Finance for Akima, LLC and its over 50 subsidiaries. This key role will help maintain an environment of sound financial system controls in support of monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes. This position can be performed remotely, but may require travel to Anchorage, Alaska.

 


Responsibilities

This individual’s responsibilities include: 

  • Supporting monthly/quarterly/annual financial close, forecasting, and reporting for our aviation line of business.
  • Managing budgeting and forecasting for indirect Department functions.
  • Providing assistance to Departments leads on how to use financial tools, and how to interpret financial data.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders.

Additional Responsibilities:

 

A successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, familiarity with Alaskan Native Corporations (ANCs), extensive knowledge of CostPoint and Cognos, and the ability to communicate and demonstrate their technical and functional experiences relative to the best methods for reporting and analysis of financial data to many users across the enterprise.

  • Has worked in a project control role overseeing project setups, budgets, and spend.
  • Strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and Cognos.
  • Advanced Excel skills including the use of pivot tables and charts, vlookups, conditional statements, linking, advanced formulas, data queries and macros.
  • Understanding of accounting close processes, including cost accruals and revenue recognition.
  • Ability to explain financial information to people with no financial background.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Years of Experience:
    • 5 + years of work experience in Finance, including 2 plus years in an FP&A or Project Control role.
    • 3 + years of experience using Cognos Analytics or Query/Report Studio.
    • 3 + years of experience working with Deltek Costpoint Core modules.
