JOB SCOPE & PURPOSE

As a Copy Editor Manager, you are responsible for quality assurance of all creative materials. Additionally, you are the lead on developing the Targetbase standards and is a knowledge holder for New Business FAQs. As the Copy Editor Manager, you will also serve as a backup for copywriters.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures optimal quality of all communications developed for assigned clients, including grammar, spelling, consistency, and content accuracy
  • Communicates with project managers to manage time
  • Partners with the writers to ensure that the creative vision is achieved; actively solicits additional information from writers or client team to ensure content/copy is accurate
  • Researches and validates content accuracy
  • Leads copy editors in representing Targetbase and maintaining Targetbase standards; assists in PR forums for Targetbase when necessary
  • Is a knowledge holder for client style guides; keeps up to date style guides for clients for internal purposes and for the client (including the legal requirements)
  • Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of client brand guidelines
  • Works with Creative teams during concept stage to ensure the client’s goals, requests, and needs are met (copyediting)
  • Manages time within team’s expectations; efficiently delivers product and has solutions for bottlenecks
  • Acts as a knowledge holder for the voice and brand of Targetbase

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 5+ years of copyediting experience in an agency environment
  • Content editing experience
  • Management experience leading Copy Editing and QA team members minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment where resources are often shared across programs
    • Knowledge of general advertising and/or direct marketing/CRM best practices required
    • Exposure to pharmaceutical industry highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Workfront or other tracking and project management software
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English or Journalism
  • Solid PC skills and Microsoft software experience (Word, Excel, Outlook)

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY

  • Expert knowledge of grammatical standards and styles (APA, AP, MLA, Chicago)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead work across several different teams and competing initiatives
  • Quality and overall impact of deliverables: Strives to achieve executional excellence.
  • Effectively communicate comprehensive review of all produced content
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Overtime as necessary
  • Travel as necessary

We work a hybrid schedule - 3 days in office and 2 days working from home. Candidates must local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and willing to be onsite in the Irving office 3 days a week.
