Injection Molding Maintenance Technician – Lockport, IL

You’ll be the go‑to hero who keeps a busy plastics manufacturing floor running smoothly. When machines act up, you swoop in. When equipment needs tuning, you’re the one with the magic touch. Think of it as being part mechanic, part detective, part problem‑solver—all rolled into one.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

• Keeping injection molding machines and all their sidekicks (robots, dryers, chillers, thermolators) in top shape.
• Hunting down mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues like a maintenance detective.
• Performing mold changeovers and dialing in machines so production hits its stride.
• Repairing pumps, valves, cylinders, and other hydraulic components that keep the operation moving.
• Working with PLC‑controlled equipment and making basic adjustments when needed.
• Inspecting molds for wear and tear and teaming up with toolroom pros for repairs.
• Logging your work in the maintenance system so the team stays in sync.
• Partnering with production, engineering, and quality to keep everything running safely and efficiently.
• Jumping into continuous improvement projects that make the plant safer, faster, and more reliable.
• Following safety rules like lockout/tagout—because you like your fingers exactly where they are.

🧰 What You Bring

• Experience maintaining injection molding or plastics manufacturing equipment.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial electrical work.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings without breaking a sweat.
• Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and automation equipment.
• Comfort with diagnostic tools like multimeters and pressure gauges.
• A knack for troubleshooting and a calm head when equipment misbehaves.
• Willingness to work off‑shifts, weekends, or on‑call rotations when needed

💪 Physical Side of the Job

• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Standing, climbing, bending, and navigating a busy manufacturing environment.
• Working around heat, noise, and moving machinery.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of LOCKPORT, IL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
