Maintenance Technician II or Senior - Parks MaintenanceAbout the Job: In this position, you will perform a variety of landscape duties parks, medians, and green spaces. In this position, you will also perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks encompassing the repair and management of commercial irrigation systems, turf/grass management, athletic field maintenance, and shrub bed maintenance. You will also lead the work of staff responsible for providing maintenance and repair services.
Work Schedule:This position has typical work hours 6:00am - 2:30pm and may require work on weekends or holidays based on operational needs.
This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.Depending on the qualifications of the candidate selected, this position will be filled at either the Maintenance Technician II or Maintenance Technician, Senior level.
Hiring range for theMaintenance Technician IIposition:$21.78 - $26.14 Hourly
Hiring range for theMaintenance Technician Seniorposition:$25.87 - $31.06 Hourly

Key responsibilities will include:
- Interpret irrigation system data to determine adjustments to watering schedules; manage annual water allotments
- Maintain the irrigation system controller, valves, lines, heads, and other system infrastructure, including performing system winterization and spring startup
- Diagnose and respond to turf and landscape plant problems
- Seed, top dress, and aerate; maintain landscape beds and plant material, including properly applying appropriate herbicides
- Pick up trash; clean and maintain restrooms; maintain building facilities and paint
- Sports field installation and maintenance
- Remove snow using an ATV and/or other snow removal equipment
- Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on small to medium-size landscape equipment such as various walk-behind equipment, edgers, and snowplows
- Regularly inspect grounds, facilities, and playgrounds to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and report issues to supervisor
- review the work of contractors; direct the work of hourly/seasonal employees

Maintenance Technician II:- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver’s license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
Maintenance Technician Senior:- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Five years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver’s license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges

This information may be used to identify a top group of applicants.- Supervisory or lead work experience within the landscape maintenance industry
- Experience developing or executing a full landscape maintenance package with emphasis on irrigation and shrub bed maintenance.
- Forestry and tree management experience
- Possess the following certifications or license: Colorado Class B Commercial Drivers' license, ALCC (Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado) irrigators, ALCC Landscape Technician, CPSI Certification (Certified Playground Safety Inspector with the National Recreation and Park Association), Confined Space Entry, and/or Backflow Testers certifications, NACP (National Association of Landscape Professionals), LICT (Landscape Industry Certified Technician)
Maintenance Technician, Senior to actively possess at least one of the following:- Irrigation Association – Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT)
- National Association Landscape Professionals (NALP) or an Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado Irrigation Technician Certification
- ASSE Backflow Tester License
- Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA)
- Other similar certification(s) may be considered
Physical Demands:The ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally; and operate assigned vehicles and equipment is also required
