Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for utilizing specialized skill sets to support the Maintenance and Production Team, ensuring the optimal operating condition of equipment, facilities, and grounds. This role requires proficiency in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and adherence to Safety and Quality policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment, including hydraulic dock levelers, Vertical Lift Modules, tray erectors, lidding machines, conveyors, scales, scanners, cameras, and variable frequency drives.
- Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and communication skills to resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Interpret and comprehend electrical connection diagrams and schematics.
- Utilize hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and computers to perform maintenance tasks.
- Operate dock trucks, reach trucks, stock pickers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts as needed.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including arc flash protection gear, and follow strict lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and maintain a positive attitude as a self-starter.
- Apply technical skills in plumbing, fabrication, refrigeration, and other maintenance-related areas (preferred but not required).
- Maintain general knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), specifically Maximo (preferred).
- Perform facility maintenance tasks, including dock doors/levelers, freezer doors, high-speed overhead doors, and mechanical repairs to AC/DC conveyors, sorters, diverters, and transfers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must have basic tools and an electrical voltmeter to complete tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
- Willingness to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Knowledge of bagging and palletizing equipment (preferred).
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Some welding experience (preferred).
- Must be a team player who works well with others and maintains a positive and cooperative attitude.
- Good physical fitness for carrying heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks.
