Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a highly electrical, hands-on maintenance team responsible for diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role oversees day-to-day maintenance activities, guides technicians, and ensures equipment reliability by performing and directing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic work while following a structured preventive maintenance schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all maintenance activities.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on industrial production equipment to identify root causes of electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Carry out repair and replacement of motors, gearboxes, pumps, belts, and bearings to restore equipment to proper operating condition.
  • Execute and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Work with and troubleshoot electrical systems including AC/DC circuits, VFDs, 480-volt systems, and related components using tools such as multimeters.
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, cabling, and industrial electrical components in accordance with safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery.
  • Use PLC troubleshooting skills to assist in diagnosing control system issues and supporting efficient machine operation.
  • Utilize maintenance management systems, including SAP or similar platforms, to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage parts and inventory.
  • Coordinate maintenance tasks during scheduled maintenance days and shutdowns to complete critical repairs and improvements.
  • Support industrial fabrication and process technicians as needed to keep production running smoothly.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices while working with high voltage, moving machinery, and non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to prioritize maintenance needs and support production goals.
  • Train and mentor less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in industrial maintenance with a strong focus on electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on ability to change out motors and repair or replace gearboxes, pumps, belts, and bearings.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with AC/DC systems, VFDs, and 480-volt equipment.
  • Ability to safely use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools on live electrical and control circuits.
  • Experience with wiring, cabling, and industrial electrical installations and repairs.
  • Background in maintenance supervision or leadership within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in maintenance repair for industrial equipment, including both mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to follow and execute a structured preventive maintenance program.
  • Willingness and ability to work night shifts (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule) and rotate between day and night shifts as required.
  • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems for work orders, parts, and maintenance tracking.
  • Background in plastics manufacturing, poultry processing, or similar heavy industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with Siemens-related electrical or control equipment.
  • Experience in industrial electrician work or closely related electrical maintenance roles.
  • Prior experience in a facility undergoing expansion or equipment upgrades.
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced technicians and contribute to a high-performing maintenance team.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules, including rotations between day and night shifts (approximately four months on days and four months on nights).
Why Work Here?

You will join a stable, growth-oriented company operating in a resilient and expanding industry. The organization continues to invest in its future by acquiring additional facilities and building new, state-of-the-art plants with modern equipment. You will work alongside an experienced maintenance team whose members average many years of tenure, providing a strong environment for learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development. The culture emphasizes close collaboration, reliability, and long-term employment, offering the opportunity to grow your skills in a technically challenging and evolving manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

The facility processes recycled raw materials into finished plastic pellets and chips in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. The existing and new facilities are not climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons and conditions can be warm, noisy, and physically demanding. You will work around large industrial machinery, electrical equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics, and you will regularly use tools such as multimeters and other diagnostic devices. The environment is typical of plastics and similar manufacturing operations, and candidates with experience in comparable non-climate-controlled plants, such as poultry or other plastics facilities, tend to adapt well. The role follows a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. night shift on a 2-2-3 schedule, with initial training on a Monday–Friday day shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a designated maintenance day). The company is transitioning to a rotation of approximately four months on days and four months on nights, so flexibility to work any shift is important. Dress and personal protective equipment should be suitable for an industrial manufacturing environment, with appropriate safety gear provided or required in accordance with site policies.
