Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic, you will efficiently and effectively provide maintenance support to meet customer needs while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Your role will involve providing technical expertise to support daily operations and achieve significant improvements in production objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in departmental projects, tasks, and objectives.
  • Troubleshoot versions of programmable devices, hardware, and systems such as PLCs, vision camera systems, barcode scanners, intelligent sensors, PC-based machine control systems, and SCADA level systems.
  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance repairs on a wide range of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment and building systems.
  • Assist with set up and operator activities, installation, and set up of new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic, and high voltage electrical systems independently.
  • Work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot CNC equipment, performing maintenance, repair, and calibration on equipment such as control systems of numerically controlled machines.
  • Conduct operational tests and repair equipment by disassembling components, repairing or replacing faulty parts, and reassembling and adjusting equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures and facility work rules.
  • Handle chemicals safely and manage SDS documents, familiarizing with proper chemical handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Complete required safety program objectives and training.
  • Participate actively in cost reduction and continuous improvement programs.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and intellectual integrity, demonstrating mature judgment and communication skills across all organizational levels.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Trade school or equivalent experience of 24 to 36 months preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in oral and written form with operators, Team Leads, and Engineers.
  • Ability to work independently with high-quality and reliability standards.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, PC usage, and email.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds manually and repetitively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC equipment and repair is a plus.
  • Familiarity with proper chemical handling procedures and LOTO procedures.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean manufacturing setting that is not temperature-controlled in certain parts of the plant. You will work in the shift, including 3rd shift (Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
