Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description

Join a leading manufacturer of building materials as a Maintenance Mechanic. Our company specializes in producing steel construction products, such as cold-formed steel for framing and building accessories. Your role will involve performing preventative and corrective maintenance on automated machines that manufacture steel products. The focus will be on mechanical and hydraulic maintenance for metal cutting machines, including surface grinders, lathes, and mills, as well as conveyor systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated machines manufacturing steel products.
  • Conduct mechanical and hydraulic maintenance on metal cutting machines like surface grinders, lathes, and mills.
  • Maintain conveyor systems to ensure efficient operation.
  • Perform small electrical maintenance tasks if qualified.
  • Assist with maintenance on forklifts, overhead cranes, or general facilities maintenance as needed.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance as an electrician.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical or hydraulic work.
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experience maintaining metal processing machines.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with high voltage.
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
  • Competency in computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Extensive electrical and PLC knowledge.
  • Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment.
  • Skill in electrical cabinet installation.
  • Familiarity with automated machinery.
  • HMI programming experience.

Work Environment

You will work in a large, open-air steel manufacturing facility equipped with modern machinery. The workspace is well-lit and ventilated with large fans. The environment is noisy, requiring the use of ear protection. The maintenance team consists of six people, and the facility operates on a day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, with occasional extended hours. Required attire includes steel-toe boots, jeans, a work shirt, a hard hat, safety glasses, and ear protection.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pasadena, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65520.00 - $79040.00/yr.
