Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description

This role is a multi-craft industrial maintenance position focused on performing both mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment. The maintenance mechanic ensures machinery operates safely and efficiently by carrying out repairs, supporting preventative maintenance activities, and helping to minimize unplanned downtime on production lines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on a wide range of production machinery and equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes of failures, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to keep production equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Support efforts to minimize downtime on production machinery by responding promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and report needed repairs or adjustments.
  • Follow established maintenance procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment manuals during all repair activities.
  • Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status to relevant team members.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience performing mechanical repairs on production or industrial equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues on machinery.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools for repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including components such as hydraulics.
  • Background as a maintenance technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work accurately in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Any education related to industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a similar technical field is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in maintenance, industrial technology, or manufacturing are considered a bonus.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their maintenance is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production and maintenance teams.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily on 1st shift, with core hours from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work takes place in a production facility where you will work directly on industrial machinery and equipment using a variety of hand and power tools. The environment is fast-paced and focused on maintaining equipment uptime and safety, with regular interaction with production staff and other maintenance team members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
