Maintenance Mechanic

Jackson, TN

Compensation Includes

  • Starting Pay Rate of $26.70/hour

Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is a key maintenance resource for the facility. The position has overall responsibilities for the plants efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • This position has multiple responsibilities which can range from changing a light bulb to reprogramming a PLC logic system, welding a machine part to designing and welding a project, building repair parts using a lathe to designing and milling a roller, repair bathroom fixtures to plumbing in a new paste line.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Practices.
  • Ability to enroll in and successfully complete required training through outside training sources. Outside training sources include, but are not limited to: Tennessee Technology Center, Jackson State Community College and Maintenance Suppliers.
  • Ability to complete all proficiency requirements with in one year.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

An applicant must have documented completion of Electrical training course:

  • Electrical - Electrical Break down is on file and at Jackson State Community College
    • Electrical Circuits I (EET 100), and at least one of the three following qualifications to apply for a position as a Mechanic C:
  • Welding (MET 155) - Welding break down is on file and at Jackson State Community College
    • Welding Safety
    • Oxyacetylene cutting and welding
    • Shielding metal arc: stick welding
    • Gas metal arc (MIG) welding
    • Brazing and soldering
  • Machine Shop – Machinist break down is on file at Jackson State Community College
    • Machinist I
  • General Maintenance
    • Lighting repair
    • Analytical troubleshooting
    • General plumbing
    • Replace piping (air and glue)
    • Sprinkler system
