Summary

Looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to perform skilled mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, utility systems, and facility assets at a orange juice aseptic manufacturing facility. This is a senior-level mechanical role requiring a high degree of independent problem-solving and the ability to work on complex aseptic processing and packaging equipment with minimal supervision. The Maintenance Mechanic is critical to ensuring maximum equipment uptime and product integrity in a high-care food environment. Will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance on aseptic filling lines, UHT processors, CIP/SIP systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, conveyors, and packaging equipment.


Responsibilities

-Independently diagnose and resolve complex mechanical failures to minimize production downtime.

-Execute mechanical repairs including precision alignment, bearing replacement, gearbox maintenance, mechanical seals, belt/chain drives, couplings, and hydraulic components.

-Perform equipment changeovers, sanitation-related disassembly/reassembly, and post-maintenance testing to verify full operational readiness.

-Follow all LOTO, confined space, and safety protocols before initiating any maintenance work.

-Accurately document completed work orders in the CMMS including labor time, parts used, and equipment findings.

-Proactively identify deteriorating equipment conditions and communicate findings to the Maintenance Supervisor before failures occur.

-Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and capital project work.

-Participate in root cause analysis for mechanical failures; contribute to development of improved maintenance procedures.

-Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced maintenance personnel.

-Perform basic fabrication, welding, or rigging tasks as required.

-Maintain all maintenance activities in full compliance with GMP, food safety, and plant safety standards.


Qualifications & Experience

--High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited trade program, vocational training, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, millwright, or mechanical technology strongly preferred.

--Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a food, beverage, or manufacturing environment.

--Demonstrated proficiency in pump maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission systems.

--Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and OEM equipment manuals.

--Experience using precision measurement and alignment tools including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and laser alignment equipment.

--Prior experience working in a GMP, HACCP, or food safety regulated manufacturing environment.

--Ability to work independently with a high level of technical judgment on complex mechanical problems.
