Job Title: Maintenance Electrician (12-Hour Night Shift)

Job Description

This direct placement role offers the opportunity to work as a hands-on maintenance electrician on a 12-hour night shift, focusing on electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and systems. You will diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in a manufacturing environment while supporting a close-knit maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of electrical maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on a variety of machines and equipment.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Carry out machine repair activities to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and prevent failures.
  • Use PLC troubleshooting skills to help identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair work.
  • Work safely and efficiently during 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
  • Collaborate with a team of maintenance professionals and support colleagues when they need assistance.
  • Lift and move equipment or parts weighing up to 50 pounds as required for maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to perform preventive and mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Consistent job tenure, ideally around 3 years with each previous employer, or valid reasons for job changes supported by references.
  • Availability to work a 12-hour night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
  • Willingness and ability to wear steel toe boots as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience is preferred if no degree is held.
  • Demonstrated experience working in environments that may include hot, greasy, or dirty areas as well as clean, climate-controlled sections.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to contribute to a close, supportive maintenance department.
  • Comfort working with a variety of tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments in an industrial setting.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a manufacturing plant with a mix of conditions: approximately 60% of the facility is air conditioned, while some areas can be hot,. The maintenance team consists of about 33 people who work closely together and support one another, especially when onboarding new employees. This role is on a 12-hour night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM and includes a shift differential for night work. Steel toe boots are required as part of the dress code, and uniforms are provided. The pay range for this position is $64064.00 - $76000.00/yr.
