Maintenance Assistant II

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, assist the Maintenance Coordinator with general maintenance and repair issues at all ESD 112 facilities.


Salary:
The fullsalary range will be $23.95 - $29.14 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Assignment:
This position is year round, full time.

Regular attendance required: employees are required to maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide maintenance and repairs at all ESD 112 facilities
  2. Inspect building, grounds, and equipment for safety and repairs; write repair work orders and make emergency repairs with approval from supervisor.
  3. Respond, in a timely manner to help desk requests and to requests from the Facilities Director.
  4. Move furniture and other materials.
  5. Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilites of the position.

Other Functions:

  1. Landscaping, mowing, etc.
  2. Changing lightbulbs.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in facility or equipment maintenance for a commercial or school building.
  2. Forklift operator's certification.
  3. Experience in various trades, drywall hanging and finishing, chain link fence installation and modification, wall
    framing, painting,etc. These skills may allow a pay diferential.

Working Conditions:

  1. Commercial/business facility.
  2. Frequently standing, walking on carpet, asphalt, tile, cement, rubber mats, linoleum surfaces.
  3. Routinely crouching, kneeling, crawling, stooping, climbing, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, and climbing ladders.
  4. Work may require use of machines, tools and/or hazardous chemicals.
  5. Ability to move and lift up to 60 lbs easily without injury to self or the equipment.
  6. Flexible work hours including weekends and evenings.

Employment Requirements:

  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
