Vacancy Information:There are seven part-time (FSLA non-exempt) positions available.

Hours:
Monday -Thursday 7:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M.
Friday-Monday 7:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
(Work hours are based on department needs and are subject to change)


Job Summary
:


Under close supervision, to perform a variety of routine and repetitive manual duties; to perform related duties as required. This position is an unclassified (at-will) part-time position that works no more than 20 hours per week.
(These functions are representative and may not be presented in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.)

Public Works:
  1. Washes street sweepers, pickup trucks, cars and equipment by hand and with a steam cleaner.
  2. Cleans vehicle windows.
  3. Checks cab area in vehicles for broken accessories.
  4. Empties trash cans.
  5. Cleans work area.
  6. Sweeps floor.
  7. Performs related duties as required.

Administrative Services:
  1. Assists Duplicating Equipment Operator in operating, cleaning and maintaining various types of duplicating, copying and related equipment.
  2. Fills vending machines.
  3. Loads, unloads and receives supplies and equipment.
  4. Delivers supplies and equipment to departments.
  5. Cleans work areas.
  6. Sweeps floor.
  7. Moves furniture.
  8. Performs related duties as required.

Parks and Recreation:
  1. Assists maintenance and recreation personnel to deliver and set up chairs, tables, booths, props, amplifying systems, stages.
  2. Cleans work area.
  3. Moves furniture and equipment.
  4. Mows, cleans and maintains parks and other facilities as directed.
  5. Performs related duties as required.
A typical way to obtain the requisite qualifications to perform the duties of this class is as follows:

Education and Experience:
High school graduation or GED and six months of full-time experience performing maintenance work.

Skills and Ability to:
  • Follow oral and written instructions.
  • Learn and abide by safety regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal tactfully with the public.

License/Certificate:

Possession of a valid work permit if under 18 years of age and currently enrolled in high school.
Recruitment Process:

The most qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the selection process, which will include the following components:

Supplemental questionnaires are used to evaluate applicant’s indicated abilities with the ideal candidate profile.
