This role is responsible for the timely and accurate production of metallic machined parts using CNC mills and CNC routers in a manufacturing environment. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC equipment, ensure each order is processed error-free, and complete all required documentation and computer entries associated with the CNC production process. The position focuses on cutting primarily aviation-grade metals to order specifications while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity on a consistent third-shift schedule.
Responsibilities
You will join a close-knit manufacturing team in a smaller, locally based facility where your contributions have a visible impact on daily operations and customer satisfaction. The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) with matching, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement to support your long-term growth and financial security. You will have the opportunity to develop advanced CNC skills, cross-train on different machines, and work with high-performance metals used in demanding applications. The culture emphasizes safety, integrity, continuous learning, and collaboration, providing a stable environment where skilled tradespeople can build a lasting career.
Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled but well-maintained warehouse environment focused on cutting metallic materials to order specifications. The facility primarily processes aviation-grade metals (2000 and 7000 series) with some marine-grade metals (5000 series). Working conditions require frequent visual and auditory attention to identify needs for machine service and to monitor equipment performance. You will be exposed to hazardous machinery, sharp tools, moving objects, noise, heat, and humidity, with heaters used in winter and large fans and open doors providing airflow in warmer months. The role is physically demanding, involving standing for most of the shift, frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting or moving metal materials. The standard schedule is third shift, Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with Fridays reserved for overtime as needed. The team operates in a smaller facility with approximately a few dozen employees, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The dress code is practical and safety-focused, typically jeans, a T-shirt, and steel-toed shoes, with a 30-minute lunch break provided during the shift.
