Job Title: Packer / Machine Operator in York, PA

1st Shift 7a-3:30p Mon-Fri

Pay: $17.33/hour

Job Description

This entry-level Packer and Machine Operator role supports a metal manufacturing operation by packing finished product and performing basic metal punching on 1st shift. You will work on a production line handling both small and longer metal pieces, follow established packing procedures, and accurately count and report completed parts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, can stand for extended periods, and pays close attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished metal products according to provided training and established procedures.
• Handle a variety of materials, including smaller pieces and longer or heavier items that may require working with a partner to pack safely.
• Stand for long periods while performing packing and basic machine operation tasks on the production floor.
• Perform basic metal punching operations as directed, ensuring parts meet quality expectations.
• Count and record the number of pieces produced and packed, maintaining accurate production and packing counts.
• Read and follow work directions to ensure correct packing, labeling, and handling of products.
• Load and move materials as needed to support production and packing activities.
• Use basic material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, as required and if trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating equipment and handling materials.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of packing experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and understand work directions and follow standard operating procedures.
• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time during the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail when counting, reporting, and packing finished pieces.
• General production experience, including working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with packaging and production processes.
• Ability to safely perform basic loading and material handling tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using pallet jacks in a production or warehouse environment.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus where required and permitted.
• Order picking experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
• Willingness to learn basic metal punching and machine operation tasks.
• Reliability and consistent attendance to support production schedules.
• Openness to training and growth into more advanced roles over time.

Work Environment

This position is on 1st shift, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in a clean manufacturing environment focused on metal production and basic metal punching. The facility is not temperature controlled, but conditions remain moderate and do not become excessively hot or cold. You will work on your feet for most of the shift, using production equipment and material handling tools such as pallet jacks and forklifts where appropriate. The site includes a break room and locker room area for your convenience. The dress code requires jeans or work pants; sweatpants are not permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.33 - $17.33/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in York,PA.
