Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating production machinery safely and efficiently to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals. This role includes machine setup, basic troubleshooting, quality checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Machine Operator supports continuous production flow and ensures products meet customer and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Set up machines for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and verifying readiness.
  • Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine start‑up, shut‑down, and changeover procedures.
  • Conduct in‑process quality checks using calipers, gauges, or other measurement tools.
  • Inspect parts for defects, accuracy, and conformity to specifications.
  • Document inspection results and report any non‑conforming product immediately.
  • Maintain consistent quality standards throughout the shift.
  • Identify and resolve minor machine issues such as jams, alignment problems, or material flow issues.
  • Escalate mechanical or technical problems to maintenance or supervision when needed.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Follow production schedules and meet daily output goals.
  • Maintain accurate production records, counts, and documentation.
  • Assist with material handling, including loading raw materials and removing finished product.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and team members regarding machine status or issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, LOTO, and machine guarding requirements.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Participate in safety audits, training, and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Skills
  • Machine operating experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficient in quality inspection using measurement tools
  • Knowledge of machine safety protocols

  • Experience with packaging machines
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance tasks

Work Environment

The work environment is a climate-controlled facility, although it can be colder in certain areas. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following machine guarding requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Villa Rica, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
