Job Title: Machine Operation / Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role combines general production work with sit-down forklift operation in a manufacturing environment. You will support material handling, inventory movement, and basic assembly and packing tasks to keep production running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move materials, products, and supplies throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Handle incoming and outgoing materials, including loading, unloading, and staging products for production and shipment.
• Support production activities by supplying materials to workstations and removing finished goods or scrap as needed.
• Perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing materials in the production area.
• Assist with basic assembly and packing of products according to production requirements and quality standards.
• Follow established procedures for inventory handling to help maintain accurate counts and proper storage of materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and clearing debris in dusty production zones.
• Use mechanical aptitude to identify simple equipment or material issues and report them promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures when operating forklifts and working on the production floor.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support efficient workflow across the facility.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving inventory and products.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand basic mechanical processes and equipment functions.
• Experience in general labor or production work in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform packing and basic assembly tasks with attention to detail and quality.
• Comfort working in a physically demanding role that involves lifting, standing, and moving throughout the shift.
• Ability to work effectively in a dusty production environment while following safety and housekeeping standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting inventory control processes in a production or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with production workflows and assembly line operations.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist across different production tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates production lines and uses forklifts for material movement. The work area can be hot and dusty at times, and you will spend most of the day on your feet performing physical tasks. You will regularly operate a sit-down forklift and handle materials, inventory, and packed goods. The environment is fast-paced, with active production and material flow, and requires adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate protective equipment as provided. Dress is practical and suitable for industrial work, with clothing and footwear appropriate for a dusty, hands-on production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairmount, GA.

The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $20.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Fairmount,GA.
