Job Summary: This is a 2nd shift machine operator position that will be required to safely adjust and operate various machines and equipment involved in production.


Duties/Responsibilities:

· Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, primary punch presses, secondary presses, press brakes, slitter, router, robotic welder, and similar equipment.

· Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.

· Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.

· Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.

· Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

· Reads and interprets calipers, micrometers, and blueprints.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· At least one year of related experience preferred.

· Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.

· Machining experience or certificate is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.

· Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

· Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

· Must wear safety glasses.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

· Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.

· Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good basic math skills.

· Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

· Ability to read blueprints and various measuring tools including calipers and micrometers.

· Ability to exercise sound judgment in adapting setups.

· Must work well independently and in a team environment.

· Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability to communicate and work with people in office, factory, and inspection as required.

· Must be safety oriented.

· Ability to maintain correct tolerances and quality specifications.
