LOGISTICS PLANNER

SUMMARY
The Logistics Planner is in charge of overseeing inbound and outbound packages for transportation. As a Logistics Planner, your job duties include but are not limited to: communicating with shippers to provide rates, managing large quantities of packages and assisting with various routing tasks. This position reports to the Logistics Manager, or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is located in North Jackson, OH and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 10%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinating delivery schedules in advance of project deadline.
· Collecting shipment information from suppliers.
· Creating bills of lading and forwarding to the supplier.
· Establishing communication between carriers, suppliers and project sites.
· Communicating schedules to project sites.
· Providing project information to carriers; Routing information & Delivery information.
· Track shipments in route to their destination ensuring any problems that may arise are resolved so as to avoid delays.
· Assist with project and spot quotes.
· Dispatch sales orders and receive purchase orders.
· Prepare customs documents.
· Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
· Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or related study
· 5 years experience in logistics planning
· Experience working in a customer focused role within the shipping industry.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and will be expected to present information in a clear and concise manner.
· Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams.
· Experience preparing customs documents.
· Experience creating shipments in web based carrier portals.
· Experience in parcel shipment software.

· Travel: up to 10% as needed
