Responsibilities:
- 1. Team Leadership & Operations
- Inbound Management: Lead a team of subordinates focused on unloading activities. Ensure safe, quick, and accurate offloading of raw materials.
- Outbound Management: Lead a team of subordinates dedicated to loading activities. Verify that the right products are loaded securely to prevent transit damage.
- Manpower Planning: Manage shift schedules and productivity KPIs for the loading/unloading teams.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management: Monitor inventory levels, oversee stock movements, and optimize warehouse storage space to ensure raw materials are available for production and finished goods are ready for dispatch.
- Stock Accuracy: Maintain real-time inventory records for both Raw Materials (RM) and Finished Goods (FG).
- Space Optimization: Manage warehouse layout to ensure easy accessibility and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) movement.
- Audits: Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with the ERP system.
- Transportation & Distribution: Coordinate incoming raw material shipments and outgoing finished product logistics, including selecting carriers and scheduling deliveries.
- Vendor & Carrier Relations: Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with transporters and suppliers to ensure cost-effective shipping.
- Operational Optimization: Analyze supply chain data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and minimize delivery delays.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, customs regulations, and environmental regulations, especially regarding hazardous materials.
- Problem Solving: Resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions, such as damaged goods, shipping delays, or shortages.
- 4. Safety & Compliance
- Operational Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols during all dock activities (e.g., wheel chocking, trailer stand usage, and proper forklift operation).
- PPE Compliance: Ensure all 5 direct reports and any external loaders wear required gear (high-vis vests, steel-toe boots, gloves).
- Hazard Identification: Conduct daily "Toolbox Talks" to identify potential risks like slippery floors, unstable stacking, or faulty equipment.
- Incident Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for any near-misses or accidents in the bay area, ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective action.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, sales, and quality teams to align logistics with manufacturing schedules.
Profile/Competencies:
Total Expereince:5 -7 year experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics operations.
Educational Background:Any Graduate/Diploma in Material Management
Mandatory Skill set:
Proficiency in logistics software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
