Litigation Legal Assistant (Contract)
Location: Hybrid - Dearborn, MI
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: 6 months (April 20, 2026 – October 20, 2026)
Compensation: $55–$75/hour

Overview
A leading global automotive and manufacturing company is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support its consumer litigation team.
This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of a high-volume litigation practice, providing behind-the-scenes administrative and case management support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment supporting complex litigation matters, including class actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate scheduling for litigation matters, including meetings, depositions, and court deadlines with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage the administrative lifecycle of legal matters within case management systems, including file setup, maintenance, and closure
- Support billing operations by tracking invoices and coordinating with internal departments
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of key information
- Prepare materials and documentation for internal meetings and litigation-related activities
- Provide general administrative and operational support to a consumer litigation team
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant or litigation paralegal
- Direct experience supporting litigation matters within a law firm or in-house legal department
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, service-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate team needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw)
- Familiarity with legal matter management and e-billing systems
- Exposure to AI-enabled tools is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting consumer litigation or class action matters
- Familiarity with consumer protection laws (e.g., warranty statutes)
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required
- Paralegal certificate (ABA-approved program preferred but not required)
