Job Description:
Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional:
• Laptop/desktop computer provided by IT department
Computer software to be used:
• Microsoft Office and Alexandria library system
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience:
Knowledge:
• Basic understanding of library/resource center operations, instructional materials, customer service practices, and data tracking.
Skills:
• Strong customer service, organization, communication, and multitasking skills; proficiency with basic technology; ability to support trainings and maintain accurate records.
Education:
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred(education or related field).
Experience:
• Experience in customer service, education, or a resource/library setting; familiarity with front desk operations, inventory, or training support preferred.

• Handling circulation tasks, responding to inquiries, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of patron usage.
• Supporting educators, families, and agencies by locating materials in the center and online, fulfilling resource requests (in-person and online),and assisting with instructional tools and equipment.
• Preparing and distributing materials.
• Monitoring inventory and helping to maintain production area resources.
• Staff also support and/or facilitate training sessions, including set-up and basic guidance for participants.
• Additionally, they collect and track service data, contribute to program evaluation, and communicate updates to ensure smooth daily operations.
Job responsibilities in Brief:
1)Support Daily Operations & Patron Experience: Assist with front desk operations, library circulation, and maintain an organized, welcoming environment for all LRC patrons.
2)Facilitate Access to Resources & Learning Tools: Support educators, families, and agencies in accessing high-quality instructional materials, supplies, and production resources to enhance student learning.
3) Provide Training & Drive Continuous Improvement: Deliver make-and-take training sessions and monitor service data to evaluate effectiveness and inform ongoing improvements to LRC services
