Job Description

Addison Group is working with our client, a well-established law firm, to hire a Legal Secretary to support a busy litigation team. This role is integral in ensuring attorneys are supported with high-level administrative and case-related tasks while maintaining organization and efficiency across multiple matters.


The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and enjoys working collaboratively within a team-oriented setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to multiple attorneys and associates within a litigation practice
  • Prepare, revise, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, correspondence, and filings
  • Handle electronic court filings and maintain accurate case records and documentation
  • Manage complex calendars, track critical deadlines, and coordinate meetings, depositions, and travel
  • Enter and track attorney time, assist with billing processes, and support expense reporting
  • Proofread and edit legal materials for accuracy, formatting, and completeness
  • Coordinate communication with clients, court personnel, and third-party vendors
  • Organize and maintain both electronic and physical case files
  • Assist with mail processing, document distribution, and general administrative support
  • Contribute to team coverage efforts and support colleagues as needed


Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in a legal secretary or similar role within a litigation environment (non-personal injury)
  • Strong knowledge of e-filing procedures, docketing, and court deadlines
  • Experience with legal billing processes and time entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe; experience with systems such as Aderant, PACER, and expense management tools preferred
  • Excellent typing, proofreading, and document formatting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-service mindset
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
