Experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Seeking a seasoned civil litigation paralegal to join 5-attorney boutique firm. Great opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment working directly for a seasoned civil trial attorney on complex civil litigation matters, with the majority focused on commercial disputes.
The Role:
As one of two litigation paralegals working under one partner, you'll be assigned your own docket of cases. You will manage all aspects of civil litigation from inception through resolution, primarily handling commercial litigation matters, with significant autonomy and responsibility in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses
- Manage comprehensive discovery processes including compiling responses, document review and production
- Oversee complete document management and case organization from filing through trial preparation
- Coordinate depositions, expert witnesses, and trial preparation activities
- Utilize AI-powered legal technology and case management software to maximize efficiency
- Maintain direct client communication
- Support all phases of litigation including pre-trial, trial, and post-judgment activities
- Assist with billing for self and partner on assigned cases
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-10 years of civil litigation paralegal experience
- Strong drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
- Proficiency with modern case management software and document management systems
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously and attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new legal technology
