Location: This role is based in Garden City, NY, supporting the firm’s Garden City office and broader litigation team.
Note: Must have 3+ years of legal assistant experience in general litigation, including litigation document preparation, attorney calendar management, State and Federal Court e-filing, and deadline tracking.

Job Description
- Provide advanced administrative and legal support to attorneys handling litigation matters
- Draft, prepare, format, proofread, and edit litigation documents, including correspondence, pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, and settlement documents
- Assist with electronic filing in State and Federal Courts
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, court appearances, depositions, conferences, and scheduling needs
- Coordinate with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, co-counsel, court reporters, and interpreters
- Open, close, scan, save, organize, and maintain case files in the firm’s document management system
- Track case status, deadlines, filings, and attorney follow-up items to help keep matters moving forward
- Perform data entry, process expense reports, check requests, large mailings, and other administrative tasks
- Transcribe dictation, type legal documents, and arrange travel accommodations as needed
- Maintain client confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive documents and information
- Support attorney marketing tasks and assist with overflow work for other attorneys when needed
- Collaborate with team members and follow office workflow procedures to support efficiency and consistency
Qualifications
- 3+ years of legal assistant experience in general litigation
- Experience preparing litigation documents, pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
- Knowledge of State and Federal Court e-filing
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with case management systems, document management systems, and legal software
- Strong organizational, communication, proofreading, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume, deadline-driven legal environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, polished work
- Ability to anticipate attorney needs, move projects forward proactively, and work independently
- Professional, confidential, team-oriented, and client-service focused approach
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred
