Our staffing firm is partnered with a well-established, high-volume law firm in New Mexico to identify a Legal Administrative Assistant to support attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment. This is an add-to-staff position created due to portfolio growth and the need for consistent onsite administrative support.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, learns quickly, and can confidently manage multiple priorities without requiring constant oversight. While prior law firm experience is helpful, this role does not require a seasoned legal assistant or paralegal training is provided for systems and processes.
Role Overview
- Provide administrative and case support to attorneys
- Assist with mediation-related matters and documentation
- Handle document management, certifications, and filings
- Serve as onsite support while the broader team works in a hybrid/remote structure
- Work onsite up to three days per week, depending on workload
Key Responsibilities
- Perform administrative legal support for attorneys handling litigation and foreclosure-related matters
- Upload and manage certifications, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Assist with mediation cases and related administrative tasks
- Prepare, proofread, organize, and file correspondence and legal documents
- Electronically file documents and track deadlines
- Maintain accurate and organized case files
- Communicate with internal teams and external parties as needed
- Adjust priorities based on workload demands and deadlines
- Support additional team members when workloads shift

Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma required (college coursework preferred)
- At least 2 years of administrative or legal support experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable learning firm-specific and third-party systems
Preferred (but flexible):
- Experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or litigation environments
- Prior law firm or professional services experience
- Exposure to legal filings or case management systems
- Paralegal certificate is a plus but not required
