Learning and Development Manager

The Headhunters have, once again, been engaged by a well-respected global organization in the manufacturing industry. They are looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join their HR team in Metro Detroit. Under direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the L&D Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the Employee Training and Education team and ensuring the training activities for employees are designed, implemented, and tracked through our Learning Management Systems (LMS). This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong training background to make an impact through talent development and internal training. This position is 5 days a week onsite and the salary range is $75-$85K annually.


Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to contribute to the evolution of the LMS platforms, including documentation and training materials, promoting its full use
  • Work with the hiring managers to identify and develop the training needs of current and new employees, and coordinate with L&D Administrator as needed to ensure any activities or trainings are assigned
  • Provide support and lead the Employee Training and Education team, while monitoring performance and providing guidance as needed
  • Define and validate training programs for employees, with the aim of continuously improving skills and career development, while coordinating with other locations as needed
  • Implement the training activities approved in the budget, and verify and analyze further training needs
  • Verify correct configurations of training activities in relation to their materials, tests and documentation usable through the LMS platforms
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as required by management


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Previous experience with training projects, organizing training activities, verifying training needs required
  • Experience with Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) Learning Management System highly preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now and Absorb Learning Management Systems preferred but not necessary
  • Experience managing and leading a team preferred
  • Ability to manage training activities and programs
  • Knowledge related to the assessment of competencies
  • Ability to be creative and open to new ideas
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Fluent in Italian preferred, but not necessary
