Lead Innovation R&D Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Innovative individual to join our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, with a focus on technology in skincare, haircare, body care, hot pours, home goods and more, dedicated to a unique ability to be creative in all areas of development for personal care. You will play a critical role in the development of new formulations and ideation of innovative products and forward thinking.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Innovative Formulation: Design, develop, and evaluate high-performance "head-to-toe" formulations.
  • Commercialize Creativity: Act as the bridge between blue-sky innovation and mass-market viability, treating Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) optimization as a creative challenge rather than a limitation.
  • Lead Daily Lab Operations: Manage all daily lab activities, including sample processing, data management, Quality Assurance/Control, and addressing product development requests.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Oversee and perform stability and compatibility testing on new formulations, making necessary adjustments to meet strict quality standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with Management, Product Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Production teams to ensure product specifications are met and scale-up manufacturing is successful.
  • Champion Green Chemistry: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements, with a strong focus on sustainable and green chemistry initiatives.
  • Rigorous Documentation: Maintain highly organized data, documenting all phases of R&D including formulation procedures, test reports, and final product specifications.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide technical support, expertise, and clear communication to both internal departments and external customers.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Head-to-Toe formulation, with a demonstrated track record of bringing products from concept to market in a fast-paced, high-volume marketplace.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry is preferred but not strictly required. We are looking for someone who is unique and creates without limits on the bench.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with cosmetic industry regulatory standards, certifications, and The Good Face Project software.
  • Project Management: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to and interact directly with customers and key stakeholders.
