Robert Half is seeking a Law Clerk I for a fully remote, contract opportunity supporting a litigation-focused legal team. This role requires a strong legal research background, hands-on eDiscovery experience, and the ability to work independently under the direction of project leadership.
The ideal candidate will hold a Juris Doctor (JD) and have prior experience supporting litigation matters, including document review, legal research, and drafting legal documents.
Pay Rate: $38-$42/hour
Duration: 2–6 months
Location: Remote
Candidates must be located in DC, MD, VA, WV, or south of Philadelphia (ideally within 60 miles of Washington, DC).
Candidates must be comfortable traveling to Washington, DC on the first day of the engagement to pick up a laptop.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor
- Perform complex legal research for trial staff
- Assist with drafting legal documents, including motions, briefs, memoranda of law, and other litigation materials
- Review documents for relevance and privilege
- Support attorneys through all phases of litigation
- Utilize eDiscovery tools and systems to assist with document management and review
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) required
- Relativity experience must be clearly listed on the resume
- 6 months of document review experience
- Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems
- Strong understanding of legal research procedures and resources
- Proficiency with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Hands-on familiarity with:
- Word processing and document management systems
- Databases and file management platforms
- Spreadsheets and imaging tools
- ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures and resources
