Lateral Conflicts & Compliance Analyst
Salary: $75,000–$85,000
Location: Fully Remote (Hybrid option available for local candidates; occasional in-office presence up to 2 days per week may be requested)
A highly regarded international law firm is seeking a Lateral Conflicts & Compliance Analyst to join its growing global Risk & Compliance team. This position supports the confidential review and onboarding of lateral attorneys and legal professionals, with a primary focus on North American recruiting and integration efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal compliance professional with experience in conflicts analysis, client intake, and lateral onboarding within a law firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct conflicts and compliance checks for lateral attorney and staff candidates, including confidential candidate matters and portable business
- Review and analyze candidate documentation, including client lists, matter reports, and conflicts forms
- Perform conflicts searches using Intapp or similar conflicts management systems
- Research corporate structures, affiliated entities, and related parties as part of conflicts analysis
- Prepare summaries and reports regarding potential conflicts issues and risk considerations
- Coordinate closely with HR, recruiting, Risk, and firm leadership throughout the hiring and onboarding process
- Assist with ethical walls, information barriers, and matter access restrictions for incoming hires
- Support the onboarding and integration of lateral hires, including training on conflicts procedures and systems
- Conduct AML/KYC and sanctions-related research as needed
- Maintain accurate records and status tracking within internal databases and intake systems
- Assist with additional conflicts, compliance, and special projects as workload permits
Qualifications
- Prior experience in legal conflicts, compliance, risk, or intake within a law firm environment
- Strong understanding of conflicts of interest rules and professional responsibility principles
- Experience with Intapp Open, Intapp Walls, or similar legal conflicts software preferred
- Familiarity with AML/KYC and sanctions processes is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage highly confidential information with discretion
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or J.D. is a plus
