Supervises Positions:
JOB SUMMARYProvides guidance to patients, families, team members, and community in delivering education, information and training that responds to individualized needs in accordance with the current policies and procedures.Patient Care:Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School or GED required. 4 Year/ Bachelor’s Degree preferred - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in mother/baby care or breast-feeding education preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Licensure: CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) is required for non-RN applicants Upon Hire(Required) andInternational Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners IBCLC within 1 Year (Required)CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Excellent customer service skills.
