This laborer role supports both plant operations and community events by safely handling, sorting, and labeling various materials and products. You will work primarily at the branch in the paint department and warehouse, with optional opportunities to support weekend events. The position involves material handling, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, assisting with inventory, and interacting with customers at off-site events.
Responsibilities
You join a unionized site that offers strong long-term financial and professional support. You receive pension benefits and a matching 401(k), providing a solid foundation for your future. The organization covers all monthly union dues, so nothing is deducted from your paycheck for those fees. You enjoy 10 paid holidays off from day one once you are brought on directly, supporting a healthy work-life balance. You also gain access to free Hazwhoper training if you do not already have this certification, helping you build valuable skills and enhance your career development.
Work Environment
You work primarily at a plant and branch facility, with optional opportunities to support off-site events. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In the plant, you spend time in the paint department and warehouse areas, handling various types of paints and materials and operating equipment such as forklifts, fork trucks, pallet jacks, and other mobile equipment. The environment includes active loading docks, semi-trucks, and commercial vehicles, with frequent alarms and warning sounds, so you must stay alert and follow safety procedures. During events, you work outdoors or in event spaces as part of a small team, moving materials, loading trucks, and interacting with customers in a busy, hands-on setting. Dress is practical and safety-focused, suitable for physical labor, working around equipment, and participating in outdoor activities as needed.
