Employee in this position performs a varied range of repetitious labor maintenance functions during the annual maintenance cycle, to facilitate the repair, maintenance and construction of County roadways.
  • Repetitive labor functions during annual maintenance cycle.
  • Safe and efficient use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Safe and efficient operation of light trucks, mowers and other equipment used on road projects.
  • Work as flagger when necessary.
  • Minor repair and servicing of assigned equipment.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently in the performance of regular duties of the position.
  • Knowledge and skill in the minor repair, service and operation of assigned equipment.
  • Ability to make decisions pertaining to safety.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with fellow workers, supervision and the general public.
  • Ability to remain constantly alert, both mentally and physically and remain calm in road emergency situations.
  • Ability to obtain licenses and certificates as required.
  • Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Valid Washington State Drivers' License
  • Flaggers Certificate, or ability to obtain.
