We're looking for a hands-on, curious, and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our growing Product Development team. This role is ideal for someone who loves testing, experimenting, solving problems, and helping bring new products from concept to launch.
What You'll Do
As a Lab Technician, you'll play a critical role in supporting product development, quality testing, and innovation initiatives across our expanding product portfolio.
Product Development & Testing
- Assist with the development and testing of new products across candle, soap, personal care, cleaning, home fragrance, and DIY categories
- Conduct fragrance, performance, stability, compatibility, and application testing
- Prepare laboratory batches, prototypes, and product samples
- Execute test plans and accurately document results
- Assist with product benchmarking and competitive product analysis
- Help identify opportunities for product improvements and innovations
Laboratory Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
- Prepare and label samples for internal review and customer testing
- Manage laboratory inventory, supplies, and raw materials
- Calibrate, maintain, and operate laboratory equipment
- Follow SOPs and safety procedures consistently
- Support quality assurance and product validation activities
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed testing records and laboratory documentation
- Track formulations, observations, and performance results
- Assist with product specifications and technical documentation
- Compile data and provide findings to the Product Development team
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Operations teams
- Support troubleshooting efforts for existing products when needed
- Assist with scale-up and production validation testing
Required Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of laboratory, product testing, quality, manufacturing, cosmetic, fragrance, chemical, food science, or related experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent documentation and recordkeeping abilities
- Ability to follow procedures with precision and consistency
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Must be able to work on-site in Haltom City, TX Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Experience with candles, fragrance, cosmetics, personal care, soap, cleaning products, or home fragrance
- Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, Food Science, or related educational background
- Experience working in R&D, product development, quality assurance, or manufacturing environments
- Passion for makers, entrepreneurship, and consumer products
