Processing Lab Technician

Duration: 06+ Months

Pay rate: $20 - 21.42/Hr.


Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM; occasionally Saturdays (1/2 days, once per month on average). Usually starts around 7:00 AM on Saturdays and done around 10:00 AM.


This is an entry-level position. 100% onsite.

Must complete background check, drug test, and medical questionnaire.

Job description:

Responsible for the daily management of laboratory samples and document retention systems. Support the processing team in sample preparation and analysis of forage samples.


  • Processing Technician in the Rapid Analysis Dept.
  • Responsible for the daily management of laboratory samples and document retention systems. Support the processing team in sample preparation and analysis of forage samples.
  • Support processing teams with sample processing and testing. Tasks include, but are not limited to, sample grinding, NIR scanning, labeling, and weighing.
  • Participate in lab housekeeping program and follow designated policy.
  • Proactive focus on workplace safety and shows initiative to work safely and follow policy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and associated tools.


Experience:

At least one year of relevant experience — Required

Work effectively within a team, with strong communication skills — Required

The ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively — Required


Education:

High School Diploma — Required


Miscellaneous Position Notes:

Leather shoes are required for laboratory work. It is the contractor's responsibility to have adequate footwear prior to work start date.

Contact lenses are not allowed in the laboratory.

Various ingredient samples that may contain potential allergens are handled routinely in this facility, including but not limited to milk, peanuts, eggs, tree nuts, soy, gluten, fish, and shellfish.
