Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Blood Bank Quality Assessment Coordinator, you will work with the Laboratory Management Team to organize, plan, and coordinate Quality Assurance and Process Improvement activities.

Every day you will utilize Lean design principles and apply best practices to enhance laboratory operations. You will also ensure that all sections of the laboratory are fully compliant with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and any other applicable accreditation or regulatory agency standards.

To be successful in this role, you will effectively drive continuous quality improvement initiatives, meticulously ensure regulatory compliance across all laboratory sections, and apply best practices to optimize laboratory processes.

  • Evaluate laboratory workflow and processes. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities using LEAN and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Institute practice to gather staff feedback and ideas for process improvement
  • Develop project plans to institute process improvements and track progress
  • Hardwire process improvement through continuing education and feedback
  • Work with Laboratory Director and Manager to track progress of process improvement initiatives
  • Interpret and implement quality assurance standards, evaluate existing laboratory policies and procedures, and determine effectiveness of quality assurance program
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Of Science in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA. and 2 years clinical lab experience as a Medical Technologist, upon hire and
  • Blood Bank experience required


Preferred

  • Two (2) additional years of experience in a laboratory quality assurance or process improvement role.
