Position Overview:
A community-based healthcare organization is seeking an experienced nursing leader to serve as Director of Labor & Delivery (LDRP). This leadership role is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum services while ensuring exceptional patient care, staff engagement, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong maternal-child leadership experience, a collaborative leadership style, and a passion for improving outcomes for mothers, newborns, and families. This role works closely with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and hospital leadership to support a high-performing women’s services department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Labor & Delivery department.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for mothers and newborns.
- Lead nursing staff recruitment, retention, mentorship, and professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary departments to optimize patient outcomes.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Foster a positive patient experience and a collaborative team environment.
- Support strategic growth and operational excellence within women’s services.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of Labor & Delivery clinical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive healthcare leadership or management experience.
- Active RN license or ability to obtain Colorado RN licensure.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
Preferred:
- Additional maternal-child or neonatal certifications.
- Prior leadership experience within Labor & Delivery, Women’s Services, or LDRP environments.
- Strong background in quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
