Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Travel)

VA Facility – Auto Offer


Assignment Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shifts: 3×12‑hour shifts (36 hrs/week)
  • Rate Plan: Travel and Local – Regular (36 GWW)
  • Estimated Volume: 350 births per month
  • Acuity: High acuity / High volume


Shift & Schedule

  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Shift Type: Days or Nights (12D/N)
  • Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (night coverage included)
  • Scheduling: Set in 4‑week increments (flexible between days/nights)


Job Summary

The Labor & Delivery RN will provide high‑acuity obstetrical care in a fast‑paced, high‑volume unit. The RN must be comfortable with OB Triage, high‑risk labor patients, and couplet care. This is an auto‑offer position requiring strong clinical competence and flexibility in scheduling.


Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience

  • High‑risk Labor & Delivery experience required
  • OB Triage experience required (OB triage is part of the L&D unit)
  • Couplet care experience required
  • High‑volume L&D experience required


Certifications & Skills

  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Intermediate or higher requiredNCC‑EFM accepted
  • EPIC experience preferred


Floating & Call

  • Floating: No floating required
  • Call: Mandatory call not routinely required
  • Traveler may be down‑staffed up to 3 times per contract
  • When down‑staffed, traveler is placed on call and must report within 45 minutes if needed.


Additional Notes

  • Auto Offer position
  • Facility requires flexibility between day and night scheduling
  • Strong clinical judgment and adaptability required
