Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

The Lab Technician will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory production processes by preparing chemical solutions, operating lab equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a laboratory setting, handling lab equipment, and performing precise pipetting techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemical solutions and reagents according to work instructions.
  • Properly document all manufacturing activities to maintain ISO 9001 standards for quality compliance.
  • Support the quality team by producing small-scale chemical solutions and testing raw materials.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: Spectrophotometer, plate reader, micropipettes, pH meter, balances, microplate and reagent dispensing equipment, bottle cap tightener, and labeling equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and laboratory instruments.
  • Accurately measure, dispense, and package reagents to meet manufacturing requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline preferred).
  • Basic laboratory experience, preferably in a production or diagnostic lab setting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and pipetting techniques.
  • Proficiency in chemistry, formulation, quality control, and documentation quality assurance.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment operation and accurate pipetting and measurement techniques.
  • Understanding of quality documentation and compliance (ISO 9001 manufacturing records).
  • Ability to support laboratory production, equipment maintenance, and raw material testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to train and support others.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Work Environment

This role is performed in an onsite laboratory and production environment requiring adherence to strict safety, quality, and ISO 9001 compliance standards. The position involves standing for extended periods, repetitive hand movements, and regular use of laboratory equipment and chemical reagents while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). The work environment is fast-paced and highly detail-oriented, with frequent collaboration across laboratory, production, and quality teams. Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
