Platform Management Engineering Services, within Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) focuses on scaled horizontal enterprise solutions that are stable, secure, and always on. EFT Engineering Services is seeking a Scrum Master with extensive experience leading Kanban teams focused on providing horizontal services at scale.  

The Position & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and evolving Scaled Agile portfolios of the highest complexity. Facilitates the scrum process on Kanban teams with significant cross-functional impacts involving project, non-project, or maintenance work. Guides the Kanban team(s) and organization to follow generally accepted Agile/Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and workflow across engineering teams. 
  • Uses empirical data to help the team(s) assess their ‘Kanban Maturity’, optimize team delivery, optimize work in progress, set KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance. Proactively addresses systemic impediments to team agility and guides the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers. 
  • Coaches Kanban team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met. 
  • Partners with discipline managers to convey their concerns to Kanban teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards. Partners with Product Owner(s) to ensure continuous refinement of backlog, which may include stories from multiple projects. Completion of some work may depend on non-agile work teams. Facilitates across primarily Kanban teams, additionally supporting scrum masters within engineering services.  
  • May train other Kanban Leads and serve as a mentor to less experienced team members. Drives Scrum/agile adoption across all levels in the organization. Facilitates and is accountable for owning the Kanban and/or Scaled Agile ceremonies for the kanban team(s).  Partners with Product Owners, Program or Project Managers to communicate delivery of work product from the kanban team(s) and escalates key risks and issues impeding Kanban team effectiveness.   Identifies skills and competencies of kanban team members and makes adjustments accordingly to promote development and highly effective teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of practical Agile experience (e.g. Product Owner, Business Analyst, Developer on a scrum team, Project Manager, or Business System Consultant working directly with scrum teams)
  • 1+ year of experience as a practicing Scrum Master
  • One or more of these certifications: Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified SAFe Agilist (SA), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Professional Product Owner (CSP-PO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP-SM) Team Kanban Practitioner (TKP) certification, Kanban Management Professional (KMP) certification, Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) certification
  • 4+ years of Agile experience
  • 4+ years of financial industry experience
  • 1+ year experience in program-level scaled portfolio Agile Transformation in an enterprise environment such as SAFe, (Scaled Agile Framework) or LeSS (Large Scale Scrum Framework)


Desired Qualifications

  • 4+ years of JIRA experience
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
  • Ability to manage complex data and reporting projects requiring coordination of resources at different levels both internally and externally
  • Experience successfully collaborating with others in a change driven environment
  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Ability to collaborate with the Product Owner and Development team to deliver to business priorities
