This job opportunity is with the Judicial Branch of the Federal Government. This position is in the District Court clerk's office. Jury administrators perform administrative and customer service work to coordinate and prepare qualified jurors for jury selection in accordance with approved internal controls, procedures, and rules. Some travel between Omaha and Lincoln will be required.

MajorDuties

  • Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Manage the District Court's jury system. Analyze the jury system and make recommendations for improvement to the clerk. Evaluate and test new jury systems. Create the court's jury wheels/lists. Prepare, mail, receive responses, and process qualification materials. Grant or deny requests for deferral of service and follow up on non-compliant jurors. Manage jury utilization of the court. Prepare orientation materials. Conduct juror orientation and assist jurors with their logistical needs. Create jury panels in preparation for trial. Monitor and record juror attendance for management of their service and payment. Prepare annual tax statements for juror compensation. Maintain jury system record. Prepare statistical reports for the clerk, judges, and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Criminal history is not in itself disqualifying. Providing false and/or misleading information may be grounds for removal from the application and selection process, as well as disciplinary action if discovered after an individual's date of hire. All application information is subject to verification. Employment will be provisional and contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the required background investigation. Employees are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees.
