Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of new construction and retrofit projects across both high-end residential and commercial environments within approximately a 50-mile radius of Indianapolis. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems on luxury homes, Class A office spaces, retail locations, and tenant finish projects, while providing on-site leadership to other electricians as a Journeyman.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various new construction and retrofit sites in both residential and commercial settings within the Indianapolis area and a 50-mile radius.
  • Perform electrical installations on high-end luxury homes, including rough-in and finish work using Romex and MC cable.
  • Complete commercial electrical work in office environments, retail spaces, and tenant finish projects, including Class A office projects and SME field work.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, lighting, motors, heating equipment, and building automation systems.
  • Install and service 277V lighting and lighting control systems in commercial and residential applications.
  • Perform retrofit work on existing electrical systems to meet updated design, efficiency, or code requirements.
  • Install and maintain street lighting and related electrical components as required by project scope.
  • Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to complete installations accurately and efficiently.
  • Lead and guide other electricians on-site, providing direction, support, and quality oversight as a Journeyman.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with other trades and project stakeholders to coordinate work and meet construction schedules.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, safe solutions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician performing installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Strong ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain wiring, lighting, motors, heating equipment, and building automation systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing and directing other electricians in the field.
  • Hands-on experience with Romex and MC cable installation in residential and commercial projects.
  • Experience installing and servicing 277V lighting and lighting control systems.
  • Background in both rough-in and finish electrical work for new construction and retrofits.
  • Experience working on commercial projects such as Class A office spaces, retail spaces, and tenant finish projects.
  • Ability to perform SME field work and handle a wide range of on-site electrical tasks.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on high-end luxury residential projects.
  • Street lighting installation and maintenance experience.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of lighting systems and lighting controls across different project types.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with general contractors and other trades on active construction sites.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear direction and feedback to team members.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and safety.

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in varying site conditions, including partially completed buildings and finished spaces, and may require appropriate construction-site attire and personal protective equipment in accordance with safety standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.
